What if they sentenced him to less days than the actual time served?  Would they have to pay HIM $50/day for doing too much time?  ;)
They won't...
But he may have civil suit depending on the particulars.

Did it look like I was serious?  ::)

John Edward Mercier

No. But I find the question of parity of punishment should the court find fact of guilt to be intriguing.

Tom Sawyer

I find your legal analysis... fascinating. ;D

The judge can lock his ass up indefinitely. Odds of the judge suffering anything close or anything at all?

Lawyers, judges, cops and bureaucrats can take the simplest moral issues and twist them around, turning torture into no big deal. To the three name guys, apologists for the system, it is nothing more than intriguing

John Edward Mercier

I have one name. And I don't apologize for the system, I didn't create it...

No trial for Sam today.  It's been continued to unknown date.
