i would guess they would do it farther out
but maybe they are not doing anything more than before

I suspect their idea of "random" searches is to spend an hour setting up somewhere around the underpass, search one vehicle, spend another hour tearing down, and the remaining 6 hours of their shift at Dunkin' Donuts.

That would be random enough.  I drove by there earlier today, but no sign of anyone. Could be the weather, who knows.
