The problem here as I see it is Canada giving him to the US for doing something I understand is not illegal in Canada.
Canadian and US citizens should know about this, but now it is going to fall out of the little news coverage it has received. That is all I meant about his taking a plea.  People 'outside of the choir' will either never find out, or forget.

I agree with you here.  I can't believe Canada handed him over.

I meant that if I got busted first time out, it would go: "Becky, sniff, can you believe this shit?  First time out and I got busted, sniff"
If, after years of successful dealing it would go: "Well Becky, I'm gonna do a little time, but at least I still have that pile of Gold to come back to"
"Don't cry for me Becky teeena!"
Also, the few people I've met that bought seeds at 10 bucks a shot have certainly regretted the males and duds that always seemed to show up:)

Yes, though I don't like to admit this in mixed company, I have "pulled the lever" a few times.  Somehow, all it ever got me was screwed.  So I don't do it anymore.

And you know, at some point, you need males to get more females.  I'm just sayin'...

As part of a plea bargain, Emery, 52, must serve five years in prison for selling marijuana seeds to U.S. customers through his business, Marc Emery Direct.

Emery's wife, Jodie, said the deal is the best of his limited options.

"It's unfortunate that a five-year sentence is what we want for Marc, but the alternative was at least 30 years and up to life if it went to trial," she told The Vancouver Sun Monday. "But while he's gone, he'll be there to demonstrate the insanity of this war on drugs."

If some animal threatened me with 30 years to life in jail, me thinks I would weigh my options rather carefully.  Keep in mind that the feds usually win. 

Emery did not harm anyone, and he did nothing immoral.  He made a bunch of money using the situation that he was in.  Corporations do it all the time.  The only difference is the corporations ask gov't for the loopholes, but Emery simply used one that was created by the gov't inadvertently.
