cops kill family dog in SWAT raid; video shows inconsistencies w/ police report

This SWAT raid occurred in Columbia Missouri.  The police suspected heavy drug dealing, but the man was only convicted for personal possession.

Compare the video with their report and note the apparent inconsistencies.  One officer said he knocked multiple times.  Another officer states he knocked three times.  The video shows two knocks.

One officer states that he observes a pit bull in the threshold upon entry.  He states that the dog barks and "refused to vacate the structure's threshold."  He then says, he "gave the dog a moment to retreat, however it remained as a threat and an obstacle."  This is inconsistent with the video, which shows only one bark BEFORE the officers entered.  The officer immediately shoots the dog upon entry.  There is hardly time for the officer to process the information about the dog, let alone giving "the dog a moment to retreat."

Another officer states that he "observed a pitbull come to the door barking in an aggressive manner."  The dog, in fact, only barks briefly, and hardly in an aggressive tone.

The lawsuit filed by the family was just dismissed by a federal judge.

Am I missing something here?  Read, watch, and judge for yourself.

Warning: Video includes audio of dogs being shot.

Pretty much SOP. They can even shoot dogs of neighbors whose dog may alert that they are sneaking up to a house. Or chase puppies back into burning buildings

Why do they do it... because they can, and it's another way to terrorize those "low-life scum" known as pot smokers.

Yes, it is an intentional form of intimidation -- "shock and awe", domestic version.

Just one more reason to have lots of dogs. If they tried it at my house, they would be busy for a while, and possibly have to reload.
