It could be a nutritional deficiency, like Kat said, or even an allergy.

If no solution is found in a couple of weeks, ask a dermatologist.

A dermatologist? HAH! 99% of them will script out some cheesey Pharma hand-lotion. Most know nothing about natural healing. They are nothing but corporate pawns slaving for the medical mafiaso industry. And they are paid well for their regurgitative, narrow minded indoctrination. Mere robots. Their motto is "First DO Harm."

I did suggest going to a dermatologist only after trying some naturalistic solutions first, and in my mind any specialist should be chosen for his/her ability.  You shouldn't reject medical science, and you shouldn't paint all doctors with the same brush.

The skin is the most visible part of the body, and its condition can be a symptom of other problems in the body, from digestive system problems to allergies / poisoning / radiation.  Obtaining a skilled medical diagnostic may be prudent.

And you know how I feel about people who use the term "corporate pawns"...

Shea butter is good, but they put the name on anything that contains even a drop of it, so you do have to do some research. Check the "ethnic beauty products" section for good moisturizers.

Shea butter is vegetable fat, from a nut.

I bought some 100 % shea butter when I was down in SC last month. $10 for 4 ounces and if you aren't using it for black hair, it should last a really long time. Doesn't smell great but works wonders for dry skin.

BJ

I stopped having dry skin when I eliminated grain (especially wheat) from my diet.

YMMV.

I wonder what alligators and elephants use.

Interesting, thanks!

My lady started using something that was given to her by someone in town that is made locally.  Bees wax hand cream.  Its worked well but she has had to reapply a few times throughout the day.  Now she is using the hemp lotion recommended further up.  This so far is working better than anything else.

 8) Glad it is working for her.  :)

Just wanted to give an update.  The hemp lotion from The Body Shop that was recommended, she says its the best thing she's ever used.  No wonder why hemp is such a big threat.  It appears there isn't much you can't do with it.  Thanks again!
