Future Trends

There was an article in USA Today, yesterday, about future trends. Two interesting things popped out at me.
1: There will be an increase in stock-piling survivalist gear and supplies due to peoples' lack of faith in the government's ability to protect them from terrorism and weather disasters.
2: There will be an increase in secessionist movements in a variety of States.

Thought it was interesting in that the two go together in a curious way.
