Amish pulling girl's teeth

I'm not actually going to watch this show because I'm pretty sure TLC is The Devil and it would suck many hours of my life away into the void. But I heard one of the girls had all her teeth pulled without anesthetic for religious reasons and I have never heard of the Amish doing something like that. Anyone else watching it who cares to summarize?
