I hope I'll see a story about the so-called "license to carry" that gets it right: (a) you don't need a permit for a handgun in New Hampshire, (b) you don't need a permit to carry a concealed, unloaded gun, (c) you don't need a permit to carry an unconcealed, loaded gun, but (d) you do need a special "license to carry" if you want to carry a handgun loaded and concealed.

He forgot one other point: you do need a permit to carry loaded and unconcealed while in a motor vehicle.

A license, but I'm not a pedant over the distinction. Either involves securing government permission for something which is a right.
