In a way she's lucky it was the cops who came through her door and not thieves. People get killed for a whole lot less money than that.

She had no choice.... with a name like Crystal it was either deal drugs or be an exotic dancer.

It just occurred to me that unless this person is the dumbest drug dealer ever, she must have other large stashes of cash elsewhere.

It further occurs to me that a lawyer hired to defend against the wrongful taking of this quarter million dollars of money would not be likely to be working on a contingency arrangement.  Even if he has been paid up front, he is taking a risk.  I remember a couple of decades ago when F. Lee Bailey was paid with drug money and was ordered to turn it over to the government.
