Stinkin' Congress.

They just love to spend money.
Wonder if Bush has the stones to veto it.
GOP has lost ALL credibility as the party of fiscal responsibility.

It's about buying votes. "It's the economy, stupid". Remember that? As long as the local economy does well, incumbents get re-elected. That is why we have to work at removing ourselves from the mainstream economy and work to destroy it.

Bush hasn't vetoed anything in six years. Why start now?

Bush is saying he will veto it.  But then again, he said he would veto the torture bill, and he simple decided to not obey it instead.

However, the house is claiming they won't approve the changes.  House majority leader John Broehner, R-OH claims: ""The House will not take up an emergency supplemental spending bill for Katrina and the war in Iraq that spends one dollar more than what the president asks for.  Period."

Now if only they had the ones to give LESS than Bush asked for, like NOTHING

Maybe, as he's done with over 700 bills, he will declare his intent to order it's disobedience before signing it into law.
