Hey all,

As most of you know, Cindy Sheehan is maintaining a constant vigil near Bush's ranch at Crawford, Texas.  I will be giving a sizeable donation to Camp Casey to help support her in this effort to chastise Bush for his murders in Iraq.  A lot of people have commented that they would like to give to Cindy, too. So, I'm organizing this fundraiser for her. (http://www.gsfp.org)

WHO:    the New Hampshire Sons of Liberty

WHAT:  Cindy Sheehan Fundraiser

WHEN:  Sunday, September 17, 2006, 11:30 am

WHERE: The Stage, 30 Central Sq, Keene, NH 03431

WHY:  Pretty obvious

Russell Kanning

I will not be attending this event ..... after all we are at war.

We missed you at NASCAR today Caleb.

CNHT is there raising money to help people in NH who are having trouble with the government, without self-aggrandizement, as they have been day in and day out for years.

I think your efforts would be better spent doing things like that than supporting someone who hangs with murderous dictators.

PS  - You don't see me raising money for Bush do you? :-)

Sheehan Family Statement:

The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.

Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.

Jane,

I volunteered for the Nascar event, but was told by Mr. Mincin that it had been cancelled due to lack of volunteers.

I support Cindy Sheehan's efforts to bring Mr. Bush to an accounting for his immoral, imperialistic warfare.  I cannot say unequivocally that I support everything she does. Just like I can't say unequivocally that I support everything anyone on this forum does. I can say that I will support individuals in actions that are helpful to the ideas I believe in. And I believe that Cindy's tactic of shadowing the President and demanding an accounting is helpful.

As to her family, they have their own ideas and opinions, and they are entitled to say what they want to say, but I don't have to try to support them in their ideas. I don't have children myself, but I can only imagine the amount of grief a mother must feel at losing a child, particularly when you realize how pointless his death was. I think the Sheehan family's statements are in particularly poor taste, as the "grandparents, aunts, and uncles" are hardly in a better position to speak to the grief of the family than is the MOTHER.  Additionally, I would bring to their attention that by supporting "the President" they are war criminals.

That's interesting. CNHT went ahead and did it, two days even. Today was the best. I had posted that it was still going on right after I heard he cancelled their participation. They did not have the courtesy of telling us but one of their volunteers did tell me and then asked if he could still do it for us.
It was a joint effort and NHLA dropped out but we did not. It was too good an opportunity not to do it.

Well as I understand it, he signed up and then he did not even have to get in the line of fire but chose to do that too.
So it wasn't Bush who drafted him or made him go into combat I don't think.

I think she is using her son's name to aggrandize herself. If she just cares about the war, there is no need to hang out with other murderous dictators who hate us and would like to do harm to us.  She should stop that because that is what turns off others who are picky about who they support in the effort to end the war.

Two wrongs do not a right make and I could never consort with the people I see her with who are clearly destructive..

Anyway, there are so many people in need of help here in NH I just hoped that more people would concentrate on that instead. I was talking to Ridley on the phone today about it. We do try to help people day and day out -- you just may not hear about it.

No one gets paid either, it's all volunteer. So raising money a couple times of year with this method has been a godsend for us because we hate to beg!

Quoteno need to hang out with other murderous dictators who hate us and would like to do harm to us.

please read "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" by NH author John Perkins.

excerpt:
Perkins writes, "The book was to be dedicated to the presidents of two countries, men who had been his clients whom I respected and thought of as kindred spirits - Jaime Rold?s, president of Ecuador, and Omar Torrijos, president of Panama. Both had just died in fiery crashes. Their deaths were not accidental. They were assassinated because they opposed that fraternity of corporate, government, and banking heads whose goal is global empire. We Economic Hit Men failed to bring Rold?s and Torrijos around, and the other type of hit men, the CIA-sanctioned jackals who were always right behind us, stepped in.

excerpt:
In 2003, I departed Quito in a Subaru Outback and headed for Shell on a mission that was like no other I had ever accepted. I was hoping to end a war I had helped create. As is the case with so many things we EHMs must take responsibility for, it is a war that is virtually unknown anywhere outside the country where it is fought. I was on my way to meet with the Shuars, the Kichwas, and their neighbors the Achuars, the Zaparos, and the Shiwiars?tribes determined to prevent our oil companies from destroying their homes, families, and lands, even if it means they must die in the process. For them, this is a war about the survival of their children and cultures, while for us it is about power, money, and natural resources. It is one part of the struggle for world domination and the dream of a few greedy men, global empire.

That is what we EHMs do best: we build a global empire. We are an elite group of men and women who utilize international financial organizations to foment conditions that make other nations subservient to the corporatocracy running our biggest corporations, our government, and our banks. Like our counterparts in the Mafia, EHMs provide favors. These take the form of loans to develop infrastructure ?electric generating plants, highways, ports, airports, or industrial parks. A condition of such loans is that engineering and construction companies from our own country must build all these projects. In essence, most of the money never leaves the United States; it is simply transferred from banking offices in Washington to engineering offices in New York, Houston, or San Francisco.

Despite the fact that the money is returned almost immediately to corporations that are members of the corporatocracy (the creditor), the recipient country is required to pay it all back, principal plus interest. If an EHM is completely successful, the loans are so large that the debtor is forced to default on its payments after a few years. When this happens, then like the Mafia we demand our pound of flesh. This often includes one or more of the following: control over United Nations votes, the installation of military bases, or access to precious resources such as oil or the Panama Canal. Of course, the debtor still owes us the money?and another country is added to our global empire.

Cindy Sheehan's seeming support for leftists, of some murderers rather than others is no different than the other several hundred million supporters in this country of various stripes.
Having said that, despite her flaws, the anti-war movement had almost no real traction untill she stood up to Bush.  I admire her guts, efforts, and strength in her civil disobediance and protests.
With very limited resources, I can't support her financially, but I support her firm anti-war stance.
