Write to these people!

Something anyone can do from anywhere, is look up the addresses of people who write LTE's such as this one and write to them personally, or at least an LTE in response, explaining how any new taxes are just that, will not help to reduce old taxes and will hurt everyone:

The Democrats with their 'anti-pledge' nonsense are pulling out the class warfare card, claiming that no income tax is only a benefit to the 'rich'. Say what?

An income tax is a detriment to all, and most often the poor, who can't afford to have yet another tax imposed upon them.
Where they are getting this 'only fair to the rich' bull**** is beyond me, but it seems to be working on some, such as the writer in this LTE in question.

I guess the premise is, if I own a big house, I pay more taxes on it, but if I choose to rent or move in with someone else, I can lower that burden.
I can also lower that burden by voting at my town meeting...

Anyone can do this so I don't see how having no income tax is only fair to the rich.

People like this guy simply want to tax people with higher incomes, more than they are now.....to get 'his fair share'.

This is pure Marxism...no question in my mind.

This was my response to Mr. Dyer who is sorely uninformed about a lot of things, not to mention the 'economy' in NH which is thriving compared to the surrounding states which are not. It may likely not get printed, so, I am posting it here.

To the editor:

I would like to respond to John Dyer's article entitled "Legislature must address our tax burden" found here: http://www.concordmonitor.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20061228/REPOSITORY/612280325/1037/48HOURS

First of all, NH imposes the second lowest combined taxation per capita of any state in the nation so I am at loss to understand just what burden he is talking about.

Secondly, any new income or sales tax will be just an extra tax, and thus an extra burden on everyone, including the 'working class' whom it will hurt the most.

The Democrats, with this 'anti-pledge' nonsense have pulled out the class warfare card, claiming that no income tax is only a benefit to the 'rich'.

Don't fall for it!

People like this guy seem to think this will go after and tax people with higher incomes and see it as a way to get what is perceived as 'his fair share'.

This is pure Marxist nonsense and has no place in NH.

He and others who use this tactic ought to be ashamed of themselves!
