Nevada rejects marijuana legalisation, bans smoking, raises minimum wage

The problem isn't people coming from Mass. This year the Dems rode in on the anti-war vote. Frankly, most people probably didn't think too much about what else was on their agenda.

New Hampshire is the place to fight, and let's stay with it. We probably can help hold the Dems at bay on some issues and gain ground on things the Repubs wouldn't touch.

People talk a lot about how we need to pick our battles to be effective. Well the smoking ban is a very unevenly stacked fight now. I'll still write my reps, and if there is a demo on the day of the vote, I'll go hold a sign. I'm not saying don't fight the smoking ban, I'm just saying don't keep your hopes up this time around.

They ban smoking? Are you kidding me? Huh, more and more it looks like NH will be the last stronghold of freedom in the US.

Sorry to break it to you, but New Hampshire will ban smoking this session with 100% certainty.  We lost a major battle this year.  Democrats now control every branch of government in New Hampshire by huge margins.

And all this time I thought the democrats were FOR freedom. But, we cant give up. Cant the Democrats be reasoned with?

I used to think Nevada was a serious competitor to New Hampshire, not anymore.

What have you been smoking? ;D The feds OWN 91% of Nevada and our Constitution gives 100% allegiance to the federal government, NOT the US Constitution! (Read Sec. 2)

That's why we're leaving Nevada and will be in NH this summer!

Where did you hear this?

They're for "the little guy".  ::)

They're for screwing the little guy to benefit their corporate masters. The "for the little guy" stuff is just the lie they tell to get elected.

The lie works. You wouldn't believe how many times "little guys" tell me how the Democrats are looking out for them.

I spend quite a bit of time exposing the lie for what it is, and I expect to spend a lot more time on it in 2007.

Congratulations Nevada, you managed to vote anti-freedom on all 3 issues. I'm seriously disappointed at this state right now. They had the option of becoming more free, yet they didn't even manage to keep the status quo, they got worse. I used to think Nevada was a serious competitor to New Hampshire, not anymore.

Nevada passed question 5, banning smoking in almost all workplaces, including restaurants and bars. Exemption for casino's that only allow 21+ guests.

Nevada passed question 6, raising the minimum wage to $6.15 if the employer does not provide health benefits, employers can still pay the federal minimum of $5.15 if health benefits are provided.

Nevada rejected Question 7, that would make it legal to make, sell and posses marijuana.

Now that we have the D's in the majority here in NH, what do you think *they* will do with the same questions? As I see it we don't have any options now...

- They've already assured us in print their goal is to ban smoking -- then watch for them to make this a crime in your own home if you have kids -- 'for the children'.

- They've already assured us in print they will raise the minimum wage...and the mandatory schooling age.

- I'll leave it to your imagination on the last one. If they want to prevent you from smoking cigs, I don't give MJ much chance...

How soon until we can get rid of the Demoncrats?

Since they won't let in any reformer mavericks, it'll have to be back to the Repugnantans!

2008 my friend...which is why I suggest all candidates save their signs.

Also,

I suggest we document everything they do and publish it in a full page ad along with the NHLA scorecard.

I suggest we engage in a massive PR campaign to publicize all of the above in every other way that we can, through the internet via forums and blogs, radio, public TV, etc.

Nearly every town has a public TV station that will let you have a show. Ian should take his show live, so TV surfers can SEE it as well as hear it.
Every town needs a taxpayer group, which is what we are working on.
Every pro-liberty group needs to network with every other group and stop bickering about national issues while NH "burns" .

We have a state to save!
