Wednesday night at 6pm there will be a showing of the movie "Free to
Learn," a 70 minute documentary about the Albany Free School.  Both the
school and the movie have been inspirational to me and the Ashuelot
River
Free School.  The movie features interviews with kids, parents, and
staff
as well as the founder, Mary Leue and current director, Chris
Mercogliano
(who has written at least 2 books about the school).  And it's fun!

I hope that you can stop by to watch! Anyone and everyone interested is
invited!  It's free and there will be popcorn!

I'm late, and out or state, but I had a qweston, is the Albany Free School the private charity school in a very low income neighborhood?  Dr. Ruwart may have written about it in her book 'healing our world in an age of aggression'.
If that's the one, it has been incredably successful, with a huge waiting list of hopeful students, (and parents).

Yes, that is probably the one -- the Albany Free School is famous -- It is the "oldest inner city alternative school"
