I am giving them the bird right now.  ;D

And I am just smiling at my friend Pat K.    ;D

When I got the notice to click on the new message, I knew exactly what it was going to say before I even got here!

By the way, I'm a bird watcher/enthusiast and the Purple Finch is the perfect, sweet singing, unassuming bird for NH...unlike the bird she suggests which NO ONE would ever see unless they hire a guide and brave the isolated area where that species is found!

That is NOT very NH...

On the other hand, I'd love to have the Mass State bird be changed to the Cowbird -- it never builds its own nest, but uses the nests of others, dropping the eggs in. When the larger babies hatch, they knock out the smaller babies of the coveted songbirds, thus reducing the population and taking up all the resources from the mother, who feeds them because she doesn't know the difference.

Sound like parasites? They are....

Just for that, I had to belly-bop my friend up to 200 karma points.  ;D

Braddogg

And now the blog post includes a link to this thread  ;D

Isn't it odd that we're talking about it more than the blog on which the post originally appeared?  Thanks for reading us, Janice Brown  -- we're always appreciative of more publicity  ;)

And welcome to those who followed the link.  Stick around, read some of the back posts and current discussions.  Ask some questions politely and you'll usually get polite responses back (ignore the ones that give the rude ones)   :)

Yep and she found my cowbird post amusing!

[Please don't belly bop me, my belly is hurting again :-(]
