Fear of the health department = money won't hit my hand

I had to sell my coffee roaster a while back. Poverty sucks. I recently got another one. Back in biz. I went to visit two of my "friends" that have health food stores that I knew I could count on to market my beans. They tell me they won't sell them now because the health department says that if my beans aren't roasted in a "commercial facility", my "friends" can't sell them.

"They will shut me down".

So much for servant government. Again.

and again

and again

I'd like suggestions on the best place to advertise my violation beans.

What does "commercial facility" even mean?

Do your "friends" think they're helping you by refusing to sell your beans?

As for advertising... why not the Keene Free Press?  ;D

Though I'm not sure how that'd help you if you're not yet here...

Many approved 'commercial facilities  are not being used at night, like mom & pop donut shops and pizza and other restaurants.  If your operation doesn't take up much space perhaps you could rent some time and space.

Commercial facility means you kiss their butt and they overlook violations. I have a friend that owns a bakery with a leaky roof right in front of one of the ovens. 'Nuff said.

I do know how to mail order. When I posted this I did not know Russell had been arrested. Now that I know my respect for him has gone up. I'll place the ad tomorrow.

My set up is good. I'm a clean roaster turning out incredibly small batches. If I were doing 1500 lbs. a day I might consider it. No I wouldn't.

S'nunadarebidness.

Thanks I will. I put an ad in the Keene Free Press. I like putting my money with the free thinking, non-socialist types.

My wife saw my one "friend" today and he says I should bring my coffee over. I'll do it a pound at a time. The first health department inspection he has I'm sure he'll buckle like a wet sponge.

I don't drink a lot of coffee, but when I do, I like it extra dark.

I just need to get myself a grinder.  :)

What sorts of roasts do you do?

Here's my post to the trade thread. REALLY looking forward to getting to NH so I can trade coffee for goods. I do accept Liberty dollars.

I've started roasting again. My current offering is a Columbian Supremo Dark Arabica mixed with a Vietnamese Fair Trade Robusta. It's really good for those that like a dark woodsy coffee with great middle notes.

$7.00 8 oz (Half Pound)
$11.00 16 oz (Full Pound)

Free shipping. 3 day delivery.
