If you don't care about how your roof looks you could remove your gutters and put a tarp on your roof.  Direct the tarp so that water enters your bucket/drum/cistern/whatever.   

But I don't know what you would do in the winter to collect moisture.  Maybe pay some local kids to scrape off the snow or something...

I don't have a lot of gutters, but I definitely need something for the kennel area. It is on the north side, and has 3 roof slopes going towards it. The kennel has a chain link fence for a top, and it collects snow/ice.

I'll be looking into that Raychem solution for sure. :icon_thumleft:

Me either but.... I am going to install one when I get my new roof and then direct the water to a barrel to keep.
