Soldiers of Fortune known as "Immigration and Customs Enforcement" hired by the US government Stole knives valued at more than $400,000 from Spyderco. Because some people did not like certain types of knives they hired these thugs to enforce something called the Switchblade Knife Act.

If people have the right to bear arms, that means they have the right to make and sell them.

First they came for your knives now they are after your guns. Like the current HR 1022:

So if they are so innocent why didn't they fight this?

QuoteThe U.S. Attorney's office says a Colorado company called Spyderco Inc. pleaded guilty today to a misdemeanor charge of mailing illegal folding pocket knives called "butterfly knives."

U.S. Magistrate Judge Wayne D. Brazil ordered Spyderco to pay a $75,000 criminal fine, a $125 special assessment, and to forfeit all such knives seized by the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement from its corporate offices in Golden, Colo.

Oh I'm so glad that the gooberment is keeping us safe from butterfly knives.  :P

Because the mob has more muscle and guns than spyderco.

This is what happens when you fight things like this:

are you serious or is this a thought provoking question?

several factors could be reasons... their reasons are their own.  i am guessing its because fighting would have cost the company most if not all of their assets in legal fees & they probably would have lost.

but the point is - the law is unjust to begin with.  they should be allowed to manufacture & distribute what ever they so choose.

Quote from: From the articleThe company says, "Thinking beyond established knife industry barriers allowed us to introduce new and radical innovations to the knife culture including: One-hand opening, serrations on a folder and a clip to attach a knife to a pocket."

... nothing like government to squash innovation. :P
I still find the prohibition on push-button or assisted-openings knives to be utterly hilarious for most serious purposes in that more parts in an assisted-opening knife means more and more delicate parts to break at the worst possible time. Also, by nature of the word "inertia", the folks who make Buck knives have sold me an "illegal" knife as well, since one of their models can be opened with one hand by a snapping motion of the wrist - even though I doubt the thing was designed to perform that way. Stupid.
