I wonder how much each of us would have to chip-in to move these 20 families to Massachusetts?  Maybe the river is trying to do it for us?  Why would you stay in the same place that keeps flooding expecting a different result?

If you ask any of the Republican coastal property owners around here (southern Alabama, particularly Gulf Shores/Orange Beach), they seem to think it is the government's job to coddle wealthy landowners whose property is destroyed every five years or so by a hurricane.  News flash: don't build on a beach in hurricane alley, and don't bulldoze dunes (nature's front line defense against storm surges) when you do so.  And if you fail to follow those two simple guidelines, stop crying on national TV asking for a handout.

This is exactly why I felt very little sorrow over the Katrina hurricane , if you dumb enough to live 20 feet under the sea level with water being held back by a GOVERNMENT managed dike.. and then you don't evacuate with a cat 5 hurricane heading at you, your deserve to die.  Its the theory of evolution at work.

Actually it was a bad thing, but still, don't build you home below sea lever especially if you close to the ocean! And then people are moving back and rebuilding WTF!

Sometimes I wonder what other peoples thought process's are like. I just don't understand it, its not logical, its not safe, and it's not smart.

Do these people burn them selfs on a hot pot on the stove, and then do it over and over and over again and just don't learn.. 

I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND PEOPLE LIKE THIS! And whats scarier is that there all over the place.
