Just thought I'd pass along an excellent article from LewRockwell.com.  Wilt Alston's one of my favorite writers on Lew's site; here's his latest: Is It Wrong If I Don't Care?

His intro:

QuoteI have concluded something very important recently. (OK, so maybe not very important, but mildly interesting anyway!) I just don't care about a lot of stuff that used to really excite me. For instance, I don't care:

    * That Karl Rove resigned;
    * That Alberto Gonzales resigned;
    * That they haven't caught Osama bin Laden yet;
    * Who gets selected for the Supreme Court;
    * If George Bush (or any other President) gets impeached;
    * Who gets elected President of the United States.

I've been feeling a whole lot of the same "I don't care" lately.

I've mostly stopped caring about national or international politics since I've moved here and gotten involved in local freestater stuff. If they just leave us alone, I don't care what else they're doing.

I get very bothered by some of the evil things the govt' does, and that will probably never change.
Mr. Alston is right about one thing that I know but sometimes overlook-that what happens to the individuals in gov't really doesn't matter a whole lot, because the system that is widely supported that draws those kind of people still exists.  Powermongers, evil people, and idiots who believe that what they are doing is somehow for the 'greater good'.  I agree with his sentiments about the type of gov't he wants.  I don't really want a better gov't, because a better gov't still is backed up by offensive force and is easy to corrupt back to how it is now.
