Re-posted from the official FSP forums:

It's been almost 4 years since I posted here last and that was under a different name (I discovered I could still log into my old account, so I changed the user name).  I was once a member of the FSP, before the vote for the Free State.  I chose to opt out if my chosen state (WY) didn't win.  After the vote when NH was chosen, I pretty much lost touch with this project altogether.  Not only because of my state choice, but because I had also discovered anarchism (as you can see from some of my older posts).

Well, I am still a voluntaryist/anarcho-capitalist at heart, but I realize we're never going to get from Here (totalitarianism) to There (voluntaryism) without some serious move in a different direction first.  It's obvious to me that we'll either have total social breakdown, or we'll move back in the general direction of Federalism and/or a Constitutional Republic.  So I'm going to fight for the ideas of voluntaryism while working towards it in some fashion, and I have once again chosen the FSP as the most likely path to success.

I have also learned much in my years away from the project and I now see the wisdom behind having chosen NH as the Free State.  I've educated my wife on it as well over the years (I wasn't married when I was a member last) and she too enthusiastically agrees that it might be our only hope to turn this country around (well, that and getting Ron Paul elected!).

So here we are, FSP members; her for the first time and me for the second.  I'm glad to be back and she's happy to have joined!  We don't yet know when we'll be able to move, but as soon as life permits we'll be there (we're hoping that will happen long before the FSP has 20k members).

Welcome back!  And speaking as one of the Anarchist Porcupines here in NH, I say move ASAP, and don't worry about that 20K figure.  We've got about 500 here now, and we are already accomplishing much.  We've got another maybe 700 or so that have pledged to move here by December 2008.  Look at everything we've already done, and what is currently in progress, and think what it will be like when we've more than doubled our numbers in the next year.  And as we get more done, more of our folks around the country will start to see the progress, and will make the move--increasing our numbers and effectiveness even more.

Oh, we plan to.  It's a matter of lining everything up and doing it.  It's a financial issue as well as a few other personal things that make it difficult.  If it were up to us completely and there were no outside pressures, we'd be there yesterday.

It was Misterbeanz, but I changed it to anarchicluv.  So I'm using the old account under a new name.

Thank you all for the warm welcomes!
