A great guy, good speaker, and personal hero of mine.
Does anyone know of, particularly in the keene area, but elsewhere as well of any events going on this sunday, the 20th or monday the 21st?  He was a devout christian, and a Dr. King centered service would be cool.
Also, any suggestions on doing something to honor the greatest peaceful challenge to the US gov't ever?
I cannot seem to find much.

Dr. King Quotes
Power at its best is love implementing the demands of justice. Justice at its best is love correcting everything that stands against
love.

The Negroes of America had taken the President, the press and the pulpit at their word when they spoke in broad terms of
freedom and justice. But the absence of brutality and unregenerate evil is not the presence of justice. To stay murder is not the
same thing as to ordain brotherhood.

Man is man because he is free to operate within the framework of his destiny. He is free to deliberate, to make decisions, and to
choose between alternatives. He is distinguished from animals by his freedom to do evil or to do good and to walk the high road
of beauty or tread the low road of ugly degeneracy.

A man can't ride your back unless it's bent.

A right delayed is a right denied.

Almost always, the creative dedicated minority has made the world better.

Freedom is never voluntarily given by the oppressor; it must be demanded by the oppressed.

Have we not come to such an impasse in the modern world that we must love our enemies - or else? The chain reaction of evil - hate begetting hate, wars producing more wars - must be broken, or else we shall be plunged into the dark abyss of annihilation.

I submit that an individual who breaks the law that conscience tells him is unjust and willingly accepts the penalty by staying in jail to arouse the conscience of the community over its injustice, is in reality expressing the very highest respect for law.

Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.   (My favorite Dr. King quote)

Law and order exist for the purpose of establishing justice and when they fail in this purpose they become the dangerously structured dams that block the flow of social progress.

Means we use must be as pure as the ends we seek.

Never forget that everything Hitler did in Germany was legal.

Nonviolence is a powerful and just weapon. which cuts without wounding and ennobles the man who wields it. It is a sword that heals.

Peace is not merely a distant goal that we seek, but a means by which we arrive at that goal.

A good march against some government-based injustice would be fitting.  Especially if it tears down racial barriers.  Maybe a march against the racist war on drugs?

You might ask Rev. Ferrin at First Baptist Church in Keene. MLK Jr. is one of his heroes, he'll probably know of anything that's going on.

MLK? One of my favorite black guys.
;D

Okay, I snorted beer, so I had to give karma to my least-hated Colorado Indian chiropractor.  ;D
