For anyone who has not seen Kundun it is well worth renting. It is about the choosing of this Dali Lama his direct meetings with Mao Te Tung as a teenage leader who had to leave his country in exile in 1959.    Interesting book called Search for the Panchen Lama(by Isabel Hilton) lays out why for centuries this struggle has existed between China and Tibet's indigenous peoples.  To this day the Chinese hold the former child Panchen Lama who will help pick the new reincarnated Dali Lama after this current leader passes on.

The Tibetans do not have to spend billions of dollars picking their next leader.

Boycotting the Chinese in all manner is appropriate.
