I don't know what your budget is, but there is an automatic weapons range in Manch. It might be a fun way to celebrate your arrival in NH, or eliminate any stress that you may have about leaving.
I'm not sure if any orchards will be open when you get here, but that is an authentic New England experience.
The state house makes a nice visit, and the NH historical society is right next door. What movies are going to be playing then?

There's one near here in Woodstock as well called "machine gun safari"

Russell Kanning

People seem to like the brewpub in Keene. So when you come here, we can visit it.

Geezer

Visit Manchester Firing Line 50 Gay Street right by the airport off Brown Ave by the UPS Hub

Rent a machine gun and have fun on the range. NH is fun even in the city.

Rent a car and Drive rte # to the Canadian border and see a bunch of MOOSE, drive uo to the lakes region and ride the Mt. Washington for a cruise on Winnie, Go up rte 3 to Holderness and take a tour of Golden Pond (Squam Lake)

After driving rte3 to the border drive back down to Colebrook and head east on rte 26 Stay ay the Balsams hotel in quant old NH resort (5 star restaurant coat and tie required) for a fabuol dinner and romantic evening.

IN the moring continue east to Errol visit LL Cody NH answer to LL Bean, it is more for the sportsman than beans with a lot les Yuppie stuff and more guns. Then head south on rte 16 through the 13 mile woods following the Androscoggin river Prime Moose country and old north logging area until you reach Mt Washington. Take the auto road to the top and visit one of the worst weather areas in the World (record wind speed recorder here and this mountain kills 6-8 folks a year it is not for the faint hearted in the fall)

Continue south on 16 and visit some of the best places in NH.

This is gonna be cool. My wife Dana and I are touching down in Manch 10am 9-2-07 for a four day scouting mission. Tentitavely I'm thinking Sat in Manch, sunday romance in the White Mountains, Monday in Concord and Tues in Keene. Unfortunately we fly out early on Wed so we won't be able to stand with you for the events of that day. We can pray for Russell's well being from 30,000 ft. so we might have a better connection.

Socially we like live music, bar bands that play Blues/rock etc....a place with a micro brewery is a plus :)
Even silly Karaoke is fun. We are simply folk.Pizza, Beer, Darts, Billards and ..oh yes, dismantling oppressive government!

Wow Manchester has plenty of those....bars with all sorts of bands, Milly's microbrews, and the 313 is Karaoke. A great homemade icecream stand, and even a drive in theatre, one of the last of its kind in New England! We also have a couple nifty old fashioned diners, one right in Manchester one in Tilton.
For special stuff and country fairs and other local color, see the www.nhlibertycalendar.org sidebar.

Lake Winni has cruises that I have been liking lately...you don't have to go far to have a ball. :-)

Here is the whole page of special stuff I just added:

See Spectacular Fireworks every Wednesday Night and Holidays at Hampton Beach, NH from Sunday, May 28, 2006 - Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 9:30 PM, rain date following Thursday night 9:30 PM.

Mount Washinton Cruises of Weirs Beach, NH offers many types of cruises for families, singles groups, and couples aboard the MS Mount Washington on beautiful Lake Winnipesaukee.

The Casino Ballroom at Hampton Beach, NH offers concerts with famous rock bands all summer long.

The Verizon Center is located in Manchester, NH and offers many rock concerts and other entertainment events.

And if you are somewhat of a performer, join us at one of the many Open Mics venues throughout NH.

The New Hampshire International Speedway is located in Loudon, NH and is where there is lots of NASCAR racing action in the summer and fall.

Living in the city and looking for homemade-style ice cream on a hot summer's night? Discover the Puritan in Manchester, NH.

Every night is double-feature night at the Milford Drive-In which is just a few minutes from Nashua, N.H. Cost is always $20 a carload and they are open 7 nights a week until Labor Day.

Think "Happy Days" in New Hampshire! For a taste of the good old days, enjoy summer "Cruiser Nights" at The Tilt'n Diner in Tilton, NH where you can check out some mighty cool cars from the 50's and 60's.

A great place to eat after a night of partying at the local taverns is Manchester NH's Red Arrow Diner.

I'm leaving for the airport in a little while, I printed out most of the info in this thread for reading and ruminating about while I am on the plane. I land on the 31st around 11:00.

At the moment I think I am gonna go right up to northern NH first, spend a day or two, and then head down to either keene or NH. I am planning on going to both the Merrimack valley porc meeting, in Manchester on the 2nd, and the Keene porc meeting on the 5th. Beyond that I don't have a 100% idea of what I am gonna do or when.

Thanks for all of your sugestions, and if I don't meet all of you, I will at least be about 3000 miles closer than I am now.
