I believe there is deep, hidden, cosmic, potentially even catastrophic significance in the fact that, at the moment it ceases to be PatK's birthday, it becomes Russell's birthday.

The day Pat K was born, an airliner was brought down by a suicidal passenger, and a rocket explosion killed 3 in Germany.

The day Russell was born, the Beatles released their final album.

I'm not sure what kind of vortex this is! 

May is a good month for birthdays, though.
