I was thinking I was FINALY very good at forgiveness when I (later) read about an idea which went something like this:

Now, try thinking about that person with actual best wishes.
[Take your time.]  Real true best wishes.  [Freaky idea isn't it?]
Think - with a caring heart - about what that person needs & wants.
    Picture that.
    Want that for them.
    Make that your wish.
    It's over. Let it go.
When you can do this, you are Free.

I have done some of this work and it is as "advertised."
VERY liberating!
Try some.  You might like it!    ;)

You're right that it is work.

It's easier to forget than to forgive. If I never think of someone, I don't have to wish them well. There's no real forgiveness in that, though.

John

I like keeping my memory in tact, as best I can.
Some say, "Forgive and forget."  But (me thinks) this is generally misunderstood.
There is no need to forget.

Pat K

Can't ya just wound them a little bit,
and then forgive them?

John

Yup.
I think I've done that a few times.  It didn't make matter any better though.
If you know what I mean.  ;D
