So I was working at a company that offers long term disability insurance. This is a good thing, but...

In order to claim that insurance I must apply for Social Security Disability Insurance. >:( >:( >:(

And then the private insurer reduces the amount paid by the amount SSDI pays me!!!!

Geez, even when you try to do the right thing, you get frustrated by the corporatism and facism.   :-\  If it means anything to you, I say do it.  You may end up becoming dependent on it, but a good deal of it is money you have already paid in.

I have nothing against people doing whatever they can to get the money back from the State that it stole from them. However, I wouldn't actually do something like this simply because I don't want to deal with their system.

No, I won't become dependent. I can still work from home by updating the computer skills I picked up through the years.
