Much research shows that happiness does not increase with wealth once the basics of food, shelter and privacy are covered. In fact, rapid increases in wealth tend to be stressful, disruptive and depressing, once the initial excitement wears off (like a huge promotion, inheritance, lotto jackpot, etc.). As Sting once sang, "we can live here and be happy with less."

Riiiight... of course he was paid LOTS to sing it. Is Sting a billionaire yet, or is he a lousy investor? (did he sue  the Atreides to get his spice mines back? How did that come out?)

Anyway you guys can be as poor as you want. I want my anti-aging lentiviral vectors and a starship. Pronto.

What he's suggesting isn't all that odd, its been said before... Find your Passion.
The thing you would do even without pay, then find a way to be paid for it.

Well said. And I believe that would be much more viable in a freer market. Meanwhile, part of the process of becoming freer as individuals involves trying to do that now to the greatest extent possible. This is going beyond his article, but I think learning to be happy with less income, or at the very least with less over the table income, is an important part of withdrawing support from the state since most of our efforts are bing funneled into the state with taxes and inflation.

I think you'll find that many never find their passion. Look how far your comics have come...
I'm waiting to see the smileys replaced with the Anarchy Bubble.

Wage jobs are way overrated but doing good work is essential for the soul.
