Thanks Giggan,

I posted a comment:

How pathetic. This paper is so pro-government it's nauseating.  Don't revolt good citizen! Here, get hooked on our welfare programs that steal money from less fed up taxpayers under the threat of violence. That's your solution government? To aggress against your neighbors and threaten to take their houses to pay for this?  What a violent group of people.

After all, we (government) don't respect your rights as a human being, and all men are not created equally. We tell you the property is yours (as the story parrots), but really your a serf living on our land and you're not free to do what you want with "your" property.

Changes are coming to NH. The Free State Project is starting to take hold. (And they won't be taking your welfare programs, your licenses, your corrupt courts, or your propaganda) Enjoy the power while you can bureaucrats, for it has already begun to dwindle away. . .

It sounds like this moron was "declaring independence" from the city because he wasn't getting the services he demanded to begin with.

"I didn't realize the city had this many services."

K. Darien Freeheart

That's sad on so many levels. :(

I'm not supporting his decision to go on the dole. No way. That said, one can say "I'm giving you money and I get nothing in return for it" without saying 'I pay you, gimme stuff!'.

The article said that he was angered over being arrested for driving with a suspended license. I can see how this might push someone to declare independence if all their taxes are getting them is a trip to jail.

So I see where he's coming from, but I frown upon where he went.

Maybe I'll try calling this guy tonight. Perhaps being told about the Free State Project, being in the center of all this pro-liberty activism, will help improve his spirits at the very least.
