I used to work with this dude and we told him we'd pay $5 to see him eat a whole habanero.  He ate 4 and we paid him 20 bucks.  I'd say he paid more over the next few days.

I'm fond of hot foods (so much so that I carry a jar of cayenne in my backpack wherever I go), and believe me, the system acclimates to it over the years.
And if you pay $5 per habanero, keep in touch--I can move to New Hampshire and retire!
