This is my first time organizing this event.  :icon_pirat:
I am putting out the call for a litter pickup along the FSP adopted stretch of highway 101 in Peterborough on Sunday Oct. 5 at 11am.
We will meet in the parking lot next to the old Stop & Shop and drive up to the top of the hill together and walk down.
Here is a map with the exact location

And this is the stretch of road we'll be walking

Bags will be provided. Open Carry is fine. Pirates are invited. Ninjas too...

Excellent, one of the many things Kat took the lead in doing.

I apologize for reneging on this, but we had complications at the liberty compound. I would have been at least 45 mins late showing up and my carpool also fell through.

8 people (including Dale) showed up for the pickup today. We had lunch at "Our Town Pizza" conveniently located at the end of the strip of highway we picked up.  19 bags of trash were picked up.  It was a beautiful day as well.

I felt wracked with guilt and ended up attending anyway, albeit quite a bit late. I had to drive myself and since my car was on empty, had to stop for gas. I opted for the slightly irrational hope that I would pass a station along 101 before I ran out of gas so I wouldn't be delayed going of route first. Fortunately, I did pass a station in time and was able to arrive in time to be of some assistance. The only downside is this made it nigh impossible to make an extra batch of muffins for Social Sunday and I'm afraid a lot of people went without as we had QUITE a turn out today.

Eric seemed to have a good time at his last Social Sunday. He's a quite introverted type so we didn't smother him with too much uncomfortable attention while at the same time we made it clear that we will definitely miss him.  :'(

Lou are you going to be doing this monthly and on Sunday's only?

This was the last pickup of the season until the snow melts next year. We'll resume again in April.

The schedule is approximately 4 pickups during the warm months: April, June, August, October.

There is a NHLA Litter Pickup on 10-11-08 at 9am in Northwood.  The info is here (I'm not sure, you may have to be a member of the meetup to see the info but the meetup is easy to join), http://libertyforum.meetup.com/5/calendar/8555422/

I may be able to go, not sure as I may be doing political stuff at that time.

If you miss this, don't worry, come April, you will be able to do another Litter Pickup :)

This one I probably will be able to attend. Saturday's are generally better for me.
