The incoming sheriff ran --and won!-- on a campaign promise to ban radar cameras.

He still likes red light cameras, though. And instead of kicking the state trooper radar vans out, he "hopes" the new governor will respect Pinal voters' wishes.

huh, political versus a-political?   GOAL:  People don't get ticketed.

political:  people elect guy who said he'll get rid of the cameras, but doesn't, and says he'll ask for permission some time soon, people continue to get ticketed in the meantime

a-political:  4409 guys go out in Santa suits, put boxes over the scameras or hold signs in front of the vehicles so that they don't scan people.  People don't get ticketed.

Well put.  To be honest, I would be willing to bet if political activism got more immediate results, most apoliticals would still be politicals.

When the chips are down, and the political method isn't working, there is always the apolitical.  the cameras make money for gov't, spying and data mining make money for gov't and private corps, large entities routinly ignore the wishes of the minority, that is when the minority makes it a bit more expensive and less profitable to spy and entrap.   :-\

I always hear the good news when it comes from Politicals' good results. . . . I don't hear a lot of praise from them for a-political.
