wanted: kittens/cats

I know someone who might be interested in getting a cat.
Anyone have any kittens/cats to be given to a good home?

Also, any recommendations for an animal shelter to go to when looking for a pet critter? (Clean, healthy, little/no gov't money involved, might be worthy criteria).

ive gone to the humane society twice for a pet over the years  I found it harder to adopt a pet from them than it was to get a car or home loan so i decided i would rather pay for my pets am would rather do it that way now its to bad they make it so difficult to take a pet noone elso wants.  thats my opinion   a kitten should be easy to find  expect to get your house ripped up and smellin like cat piss.  unless you take constant care of it  animals are like kids you get out what you put in......

We got a kitten and a cat from placing an ad in the Grafton Gazette.  Both have worked out great.  The cat is a great mouser, and the kitten killed her first little mouse today.  Both are very affectionate, which is what we looked for when we took them (they were from 2 different places).

cats are great for mouse problems and if you skimp on feeding them they'll not only catch the mice they will eat them too.  at my old pace we had mice so my ex with a cat and my roommate with a mouse trap  made a bet who could get more and the cat won.

I know what you mean; the demands humane societies put on you to "adopt" (there's still a hefty fee involved) a pet are amazing.  I bought both my cats from Family Pet in Nashua.  They take whole litters of kittens from home breeders, and the purchase price includes the initial vet exam and a set of shots.  My cats are feline angels, but of course that's just my opinion.

Yeah a great way of getting your mouse to catch mice is to go to the pet shop and pick up a white mice and let your car "play" with it, and kill it. They will then know what a mouse is, and they will look for them. My cat once caught 3 mice in 24 hours.

One of our cats disappeared recently (as cats are wont to do). He was a skinny, not-at-all-attractive short-haired ginger tabby, intact, about 18 months old, with a constantly weeping eye. And he was a mouse-eating machine, unlike most tomcats.

I guess I'll have to set some traps now, because the two neutered toms aren't interested in anything except Purina rattling in their bowl. The Purina (and the dogs' Pedigree) seems to be what draws the mice into the garage. In 17 years I've never seen a mouse in this house, but they do love the critter chow.

One of the pet shops where Mary groomed early in her career, always offered "free kittens!" with the purchase of a litter box and bag of food. The owner never lacked kittens; he would just pick up a litter here and there from the classifieds.

ARNE is always doing pet adoptions in my town
