If it's the same narration I saw (I really can't bring myself to watch it again), I'd hardly call it "good."  The high comedy treatment smacks to me of complicity.

Sounds like you saw something different or heard a different narration. There was no tone of complicity or mirth. Sarcasm, perhaps, but not "funny".
