Today I was talking to my fellow worshippers at church about firearms.
I hate the AR-15 gas system and the AK platform is reliable but commie junk IMO.

Now I think I've found the perfect altenative.
The Robinson Arms XCR. http://www.robarm.com

It has the gas system of the AK, ergonomics and mags of the AR-15, charging handle of the FAL, and an easy change barrel!
You can even buy kits (Barrel, bolt, & magazine.) that allow different calibers.
You could have one rifle that fires 7.62X39, 5.56, 6.8 SPC, and soon a .308!!

Price is high, but goddamn it's a sweet gun. That's likely the worst part. The $1700+ price. But it's basically a version of the FN SCAR that you can actually get ahold of.

Get a SIG 556, an older one to be precise.
The FCG is easily........ in times of need.

I hate the 5.56 round.
If Sig made it in 7.62 I might think about it.

I have the XCR in .223 and 7.62x39.

How did you get one, if you don't mind?
I'm looking at ordering direct and having it shipped to an FFL.

Is there a better way?

I bought mine from Kermit Zahm and it was a great experience. I plan to buy another one from him eventually.

Saw a couple on Gunbroker today. Very expensive, including one farkled out one. Not sure what the replacement cost is for the farkles.

Question for those of you who know such things: To be compliant with man laws, do you need to file a SBR registration in order to purchase a twelve-inch barrel, or just before you install it on a rifle?

I would guess not because it's not the length of the barrel that matters but the overall length of the rifle. You could get a short barrel and a long-non-collapsible-non-removable stock and still be within the total length guidelines. Not 100% certain though.

Here is the Lexster in action

I remember this video?! I think when I looked up the rifle the price threw me off. I've been researching rifles a lot more since then and now I realize the price is likely worth it.

Do you just call him and tell him "I want to buy a gun!"?

A question I can find myself but...
Is the receiver aluminum or steel?

You guys should join and post your questions on http://xcrforum.com, there are a lot of knowledgeable people on there and several Robinson Armament staff who answer questions.
