Perhaps...probably not dishwasher safe though...but if it's solid maybe.

In looking further around the net I see that birch burls are a better source of wood for these cups than a log. The reason is that the grains in the log can cause splits in the cup. A burl on the other hand is round shaped and takes to bowl and cup making better.
