9/11: Time for a Second Look

The Keene State College Economics/Political Science Department and the Monadnock 9/11 Truth Alliance hosted Dr. David Ray Griffin on Friday, April 10th to speak on the topic of 9/11: Time for a Second Look.

The author of six books on the topic of what went down on that severe clear day in early September (and how it went down) opened his presentation by saying that he had reviewed all of his books again in great detail, having taken multi-doses of several psychiatric meds, and concluded that he was in abject error.  Having awoken from his extended moment of psychiatric confusion, he noted that his critics were correct; anyone who believes that the 9/11 official story is not true must be crazy.

Well, actually, of course, that's not what he said...

it's just taken me ten days to write my own April Fools joke.

So reach out and honk your own nose.


Okay, so now that I have your attention...


The guest speaker for the night spoke of the need to ask people to take a second look at the information and evidence. 

Previously, any discussion about 9/11 conspiracy – he noted that such discussion wasn't about whether there was a conspiracy, just which one was the accurate tale --  would be met with a rolling of the eyes, and then the folks would "move on".  (Hey, cutecat, he actually used that phrase too... )

But, he noted, those who speak contemptuously of the 9/11 truth movement can not ignore the new information and research that show new grounds for re-opening the investigation.

Griffin specifically mentioned that the EPA had been ordered to lie about the quality of the air post-collapse (see below), noted that 60% of the Ground Zero workers are ill, and that their future and too-soon deaths are predicted to exceed the original death toll. 

He further noted that Zelikow [the fellow who, prior to being named as the Executive Director of the 9/11 Commission, authored a treatise on the need for pre-emptive warfare as a result of 9/11] told staffers on the 9/11 Commission not to return calls from commissioners (an order later rescinded), and that he pre-wrote an outline with sub-outlines and sub-sub-outlines of the final report, and kept that secret from his staff.

Griffin also pointed out that NIST (an arm of the Department of Commerce run by a Bush appointee) had 'fully hijacked the 9/11 investigation from the scientific realm into the political realm', that the NIST reports had to be approved by both the OMB and the NSA. 

Such eye-rolling contempt, he noted, also does not recognize the new shape of the 9/11 movement.  George Monbiot referred to it as "a bunch of idiots". Alexander Cockburn called the movement's members nuts, and described it as "an ascendancy of magic over common sense and reason".  Griffin himself has been described as the high priest or guru of a religiously based movement and, that, as a professor of theology, he was qualified only to discuss myths and fairy tales, to which Griffin retorts "then that makes me eminently qualified to discuss the 9/11 Commission Report". 

Griffin points to a shift towards new and stronger intellectual, scientific and professional support, and reviewed the growing list of professional associations devoted to 9/11 truth (pilots, engineers, architects, intelligence officials, lawyers, community officials, medical professionals and others).  As Griffin points out, these are not people who can or will be easily dismissed.

'The weight of scientific evidence is now overwhelmingly against the official theory', said Griffin, and discussed the independent nature of the groups, unlike that of the Commission and NIST.  He noted an Old Sinclair Lewis quote: "It is difficult for a man to understand something when his salary depends on him not understanding it."

Griffin spoke of several times in which the FBI itself actually quietly blew holes in the official story, first in its proclamation that Ussama bin Laden, while wanted for terrorism, is not wanted for anything related to 9/11 ['there is no evidence', said their spokesman], and also in its testimony in the trial of Zaccarias Moussaoui, and further noted that Barb Olsen (whose famous cell phone call was the only time the word boxcutters was ever used in an "official story" element) made two attempted calls, one of which was never connected and the second of which lasted 0 seconds.  He noted as well that no major media outlet finds these kinds of things newsworthy.

Griffin noted that OBL's death is recorded in mid-December of 2001; watch for Griffin's  forthcoming book "OBL: Dead or Alive?", as well as another soon to be delivered to the publishing house entitled "The Mysterious Collapse of WTC7"... He described --as Jimiray has often pointed out -- that the WTC7 collapse is the Achilles Heel of the official story.

Griffin noted the frequent and repeated delays of the NIST report but that , in the end, it inadvertently reveals the truth while ignoring physical evidence (example: the presence in the dust of particles which could only have been formed in extreme heat -- over 5000 degrees Fahrenheit --, or the nano-thermitic material.  Griffin noted that the NIST did not check the dust 'because there was no evidence' for it – isn't that the reason you check? – and that 'if you're looking for something that isn't there, you're wasting time and taxpayers' money'.

Griffin then proceeded to recount the tale of one Barry Jennings and his colleague Michael Hess and their reports of their activities inside WTC7.  It involves BBC interviews...   I did not catch all the details; I'll have to do some more homework and reading... but the tale ends with the mysterious death of Jennings, the man who claimed to have heard and experienced explosions, and the elevation to the Vice Presidency of Giuliani's consulting business after he supported Giuliani's re-hash of the timeline.

Griffin also recounted how NIST was forced to accept the idea that the WTC7 was in full, uninterrupted free fall when confronted with the proof put forth by a high school physics teacher, a circumstance Griffin described as an absolute contradiction with its own official conclusion and thus the ultimate self-destruction of the official fairy tale.

Griffin recalled his book about the 100 Omissions and Commissions of the 9/11 Commission Report and noted that, if he was writing the book today, the number would be over 200.

He urged a wholesale re-visitation of the research, evidence and facts surrounding 9/11 so that President Obama might be given the political, intellectual, legal and religious support he needed in order to feel comfortable moving toward a re-investigation. In the first question in the audience Q&A, he was asked when his first audience with the President would be.  Griffin noted Obama's pledge that his administration would be based on sound science, reviewed the presence of scientific fraud in the 9/11 investigations, and said that, with Bush/Cheney, there was no chance for re-opening the investigation but that, with Obama, there was a 10% chance.  He noted this as a singular and outstanding improvement. 

In his response to another question about Dallas 11/22/63, Griffin noted that the truth in the case of 9/11 was even more obvious than it was in the JFK assassination and, furthermore, that there is a prompt, large, global movement addressing 9/11.  He noted that every major country and every major US city had a 9/11 coalition or committee of some sort.  He said the objective was to get the 9/11-based policies reversed, and to get back to a rule of law.

I stood in line at the microphone and asked him to tell us, in the context of the high degree of world change currently being experienced (he'd already mentioned the environmental issues), the media blackout and the Bernaysian propaganda, the power of the military-industrial complex, peak oil, the severe economic crisis, and the possibility of nuclear war, and as a Christian theologian on the weekend in which the world celebrated the execution of another truth-teller at the hands of the money-changers, whether we should concentrate on a legal/investigative/forensic approach, a political approach, or a spiritual approach.  His answer (predictably): all three. 

Asked if he'd ever been threatened, he said "no". 

In a follow-up question as to whether he was afraid, he said "no".

'They wouldn't likely bring harm to me because my five [soon seven] books would all leap to the best-sellers' lists.'

He said that we needed to push for and create a media professionals for 9/11 truth (the subject briefly of our pizza discussion), and noted that his book on 9/11 contradictions had been nailed to most members of Congress with only two replies: "We have received your book. Thank you."

Griffin, in response to another question about the 800-lb. Gorilla in the room, said that we had to recognize the facts: we live in a plutocracy, a government of the rich for the rich, and that we had to move to repeal corporate personhood that allowed corporations to outvote tens of millions of citizens. 

He further noted that, while the Founding Fathers had written a Constitution that was designed to protect against the eventual controlling evolution of a special interest group, they themselves were rich, never saw themselves as a special interest group, and thus never wrote any protection into the Constitution that would protect the nation against the eventual control of the special interest group of the rich.

Six more questions that suggest we need to re-open the investigation:

The head of Pakistani Intelligence transferred $100,000 to Mohammed Atta but this was never investigated; why?

What force pulverized most of the concrete and office material into dust, then ejected the steel beams into the air?

Symmetrical collapse would require all perimeter columns and core columns to fail at precisely the same time.  What is the explanation?

Why does an analysis of Flight 77's flight data recorder show the plane at 480 feet adjusted altitude when it supposedly hit and knocked down five light poles?

The 9/11 Commission Report states that the flight path taken by Flight 77 was on the South Side of the Citgo station. This contradicts the flight path data from the flight data recorder which shows that the flight path was on the North side of the Citgo station and nowhere near the light poles allegedly hit and knocked down by Flight 77.  What's up with that?

In the event of a hijacking, all pilots are trained to surreptitiously key-in an emergency four-digit code which will cause the letters hjck to show up on the screens of air traffic controllers.  How is it that none of the four pilots ever entered the code?

911: Dust and Deceit

This disturbing film by Penny Little "911: Dust and Deceit at the WTC"  exposes the cenvironmental disaster of 9/11 through interviews with scientists, waste management specialists, government workers, volunteers, the heros and victims of the dust which permeated the air after 911.

Background

EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman announced to New Yorkers, shortly after the 911 attacks on the World Trade Towers that ". .I am glad to reassure the people of New York and Washington DC that their air safe to breathe" and that we ". . .need not be concerned about environmental issues as [we] return to [our] homes and workplaces."

At that time, she didn't have the information to support those assurances or make recommendations. The White House itself, through its Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ), actually manipulated the statements being released by the EPA so as to soft-pedal health concerns. Because of these misleading statements, and because the EPA bucked its legal responsibility and left the problem to the City, the public was put at risk.   This is true even though the EPA reversed course in May of 2002 and initiated an extremely limited and flawed voluntary cleanup.  There is evidence of a coverup, and a media blackout. Thousands of people are ill.

Gonzalez, a prize-winning New York Daily News journalist, alleges that Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, EPA administrator Christine Todd Whitman, OSHA inspectors, the New York City Health Department, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation, and New York newspapers lied to the public by intentionally downplaying the risks of exposure and the anticipated dangers. Information was suppressed, and those who tried to reveal the true extent of the damage were silenced. Gonzalez states that thanks to the efforts of politicians, lawyers, and ordinary citizens who refused to be intimidated, details about the disaster's environmental consequences were finally brought to the public's attention.
