I said the same thing about free staters.  I kept listening to FTL and reading liberty stuff anyways.  I was wicked wrong and laugh at the things I used to say.  He'll be back when he figures it out for himself.

I think he wrote it in a, somewhat aggressive manor mentioning the ccp and all, and everything else everyone pointed out, but I really understand about that particular point. I can't get a ccp/cwp in NJ, but I still carry, b/c you don't know when you'll need it, and better to get caught with one than caught without one.

When I read his post, especially given the context, I didn't assume his concern was "getting caught carrying without a CCP" but a subtle way of indicating that "a gun would have been helpful in this situation".

I just think that instead of being so accusatory or jumping on this guy so hard about this, that maybe it could have been used to help guide someone down the path of discovering true liberty/freedom, but after this, he has already said he's leaving the forum and not interested in the overall project anymore.

I think this is a somewhat fair point. There is also the flipside though. If someone is SO entrenched in collectivism that a few of use posting to a forum makes ALL of the FSP "assholes" or makes ALL of the FSP non-viable, I hesitate to wonder what kind of prospect he was. I will be very honest too, there are some people I'm simply NOT interested in recruiting. Someone who says "Pot should be legal, but Meth is bad" is someone I'll talk with. Someone who's "unprinciple" is supporting bombing Iraq to glass is NOT someone I'll feel upset for rejecting the FSP. Someone who's response to the phone call was upset and anger and (again, as I read it) responds by reaching for a gun isn't someone I think is a prospect worthy of my time.
