SHORT BACKGROUND:

Bob Schulz, founder and chairman of We the People, said he hopes the event will lead to America taking a new road when it comes to enforcing the United States Constitution, the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights.

Schulz is concerned that the government has over many decades failed to abide by the Constitution, particularly when it comes to issues such as the war in Iraq, the Vietnam conflict, the Federal Reserve, immigration, bank bailouts, the Patriot Act and the rights guaranteed by the Second Amendment. He admitted that while these and other issues have become political hot buttons, each issue really boils down to a Constitutional question.

During the past 14 years, We The People has petitioned the government for redress of various grievances but has been denied at every turn. "The government has greeted us with silence. Where does that leave the people?"

Schulz said that part of the reason so many people are unhappy with the way the federal government operates is because they do not understand the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights.

"There's a deep divide in this country between people who know and understand the Constitution, and those that do not. Most people do not understand, he said, that the government "can only do what the people have authorized it do."

The Continental Congress is being called by the people, not to amend the Constitution but to defend and restore the document.

********************************************************************************************

Since the object is to determine "What should a free people do?" my goal is to present the following ideas.

We are lost at the federal level. It is time for people to take action, but that action should be taken locally. Those who live in states where direct action is a lost cause should relocate (preferably to NH).

Start living free now. Resist unjust laws through non-compliance.

If you would like to see these ideas presented as courses of action for the other delegates to take back to their states, please vote for me. The mail in ballot requires a notary.

Thank you.
