The State of New Jersey is now mandating every school child be vaccinated, otherwise they will be kicked out of class. This ABC news report covers the story.

Sounds like a win-win to me.  Where's the controversy?

If they throw your child out, do you get to stop paying your property taxes too?

Sadly, most places I've seen that threaten throwing a child out of school will then charge the parents with truancy, remove the children from the home, place them in foster care, and then the foster parents will provide the vaccination.

I guess I will be a test case then.  I am in NJ and will not allow my daughter to get the vaccine.  She is in daycare, not full on school, but I think I will wait until they tell me something. And then I will try and just say no.

My best suggestion, and it is truly a sad one -- be prepared to flee or lose your child should you continue to refuse. Fleeing would be the best result, sadly.

All you have to do is write a letter to the day care claiming a religious exemption. You don't even need to be religious, just claim the exception any way.  They can't question you about it. They have to give it to you. 

I doubt it will be necessary though in your case.  This was put into effect last year, along with three other "mandatory" vaccines.  If your daycare hasn't questioned you about it by now I doubt they will. I don't think some of them even know about it. It wasn't widely publicized at the time.  There was more furor over the mandatory meningitis vaccine for the 6th graders.

The article doesn't say if it is swine flu or seasonal flu vaccines that they are mandating, but as I posted this on another thread, Canadian researchers have found that seasonal flu shots make you twice as likely to get the swine flu.  Read more:

I don't know that the issue will even arise since she's not in actual gov't school, but I figured first I will ignore them and hopefully after a while they will be out of the stuff.  Then I was planning on doing the religious thing.  I've thought about having to leave to avoid persecution over it, I want to get the hell out of NJ but I want it to be on my terms.  Not that I wouldn't leave if the bastards started threatening me, but it wouldn't be how I wanted it to happen.
