more specifically the mr.krabs and plankton rival.

while both mr.krabs and plankton are greedy and want as much money as possible, they both go about this in different ways.

first mr.krabs, while the greediest, his model for making money is that he provides the best possible product to the consumer and has them buy it.

plankton , on the other hand, has a terrible restaurant and product, so instead of competing, he tries to steal and copy the product of mr. krabs.

now, looking at these two models, which one makes more money? its the guy who has the good product and restaurant.  this says to me, that greed in the market is a good thing, it encourages the development of great products and services by those that want to be rewarded, and those that want to steal and be fraudulent will be punished by the market.

but you can also look the idea of plankton wanting to steal the krabby patty secret formula as a kind of view of IP, in that mr. krabs doesn't seem to have any copy right or IP protection on it, at least not government protection. if he did, he could just warn plankton that he would sue for IP infringement. and even without a government  IP monopoly, krabs does just fine.

and as for break-ins and attempted theft of his property, krabs never get the police involved, and they do exist in bikini bottom, he finds other ways of stopping plankton.

then we can look at sponge bob working at the krustykrabs and being paid "slave wages"  and no benefits, including no breaks. sounds to me like a sweat shop, but sponge bob would rather work there, than say a the chum bucket, and it is a completely voluntary decision for him to work there.

Interesting. Just on a sidenote, I recall the comedian who does Spongebob's voice sounding really hatefully socialist on stage. No idea how much invovlement he has with the writing, maybe none.

...and then there's DeathSponge NotePants, for a totalitarian look at Spongebob:

Warning: may be too horrifying to contemplate.
