:glasses7: "iWATCH" wants you to be aware of domestic terrorists and report your neighbors.   :lockstep:

Weird, in Texas in 1993, I did a soil test of pasture and the only deficiency was nitrogen so when I bought 50 lb bags of ammonium nitrate  i guess we could have been raided.  :jailbird:

well this kind of makes sense - ammonium nitrate is an explosive (even by itself - though usually mixed with some type of fuel oil)

where do you buy bulk chemical fertilizers anyway? I do erosion control here in Noo Joyzee, so I could use them. I've been going to agway and getting the various N-P-K mixes, but I would imagine pure potash, superphosphate, ammonium nitrate, etc. would be even less expensive, right?

If their looking for crime and terrorism they
should just set up web cams all around government buildings.

Let me be clear,  I am a solid advocate of the "Non Aggression Principle".   I was interested in ammonium nitrate only for getting this pasture to yield an improved grass for horse grazing. Back in 93, I was concerned that getting the more standard mixtures vs, ammonium nitrate would tox the soil by OD of unneeded amendments. Subsequent attempts to fortify this Texas soil was frustrated by the unavailability of pure ammonium nitrate by  nervous feed store staff. Thus I had to endure a crappy pasture.

I gave up on the pursuit of improved grassland by pressure to avoid the weird vibe of the feed store staff.  Is every one safer from this?   :lil_alien:

Well, in Maine, where taters are grown, there are barns full of 99% AN.  You can walk up to these places or drive past them in the winter and there is nobody there, so, just say there are any people that want to grow taters really quickly, they'd be able to get this stuff with no hastle.
It is funny though.  The AN in this purety comes from Russia and is pretty much the cheapest you can buy, it comes in by the boatload.
It is a bit Ironic that most of the terror attempts in the last 10 years have an FBI/CIA fingerprint one way or the other.   One wonders if any of the terrorists are OTHER than home grown. >:(
There are other kinds of products that will get you visit from the local sherifs department, like salts for parkerising/bluing/anodising of metals and other acids. ::)
