You're invited to another event at the camera-grabbing Manchester Police Department.   This event will still go on even if most of the cameras have been returned by then. But the return of the cameras should reduce the need for more protests.

As you know, some activists are alleging MPD harassed them in various ways when they entered the building piecemeal to retrieve confiscated cameras.   The simple response to such police behavior is to "convoy."  10 or 15 activists go in at the same pre-planned time.  Some go to get their phones back, others to observe.   Human rights monitors.

In the absence of some disabling disaster, I will drop by MPD at 4:15pm on Tuesday.  About fifteen minutes later I'll enter the building to try to retrieve my phone they seized.  At around 5:15 I will hang out outside the building, videotape, and carry some sort of sign protesting the fact that the cameras were taken in the first place.  You can too.

Of course other protests of various types will probably continue for as long as the "June 4 cameras" are held hostage, or maybe until the court cases are completed.   I would prefer there not be any building-chalking during this one...as one Union Leader commenter put it...the liberty folk are most effective when they "protest smart."  But if MPD gets tempermental over chalk on sidewalks I don't see what the big deal is.

What:     MPD camera retrieval attempt, followed by protest
When:    Thursday, June 16
                4:15p gather outside MPD.
                4:30p enter MPD.
5:15p approx - Protest lawfully outside MPD with sign wave.
Where:   Manchester Police Department. 351 Chestnut. Manchester, New Hampshire.
Who:      Probably about 15 activists
Why:      Draw more attention to MPD's practice of swiping cameras and its continued "detention" of the devices.  Further undermine public support for MPD's actions.

I wish a MF WOULD try to take my camera, ha. I'll have his ass named in a lawsuit before he finishes his shift.  :icon_pirat:

Will try to make it down Dave.

Also, hey guys, you were mentioned at the Rod Class seminar last weekend. We got up again this week and headed down to DC:

it is funny how the cops act like we are having a decent civil "conversation" when they sometimes threaten force, handcuff us, or just take away our phones and cameras.
they think it is normal when they physically decide the terms of the discussion
