Got that fancy lectric back tonight.

It was not really that bad a storm but it did knock a crap load
of trees down here and of course the trees took out the lectric lines.

When I saw that Vermont had bad flooding, I was worried about some folk
but could not get through on my cell, but since I could here his voice
I knew the hillbilly jarhead was o-k.

Hope every one is well.

LOL

I can't fathom who you could possibly be talking about from all the various hillbilly jarheads from Vermont that I know.

I too, thought about the former Presidents security detail, but then realized that they live on a mountain and have probably been sending torrents of water down to Brattelboro.

Wow, I thought our power was out a long time, 2 days.
Tom and Beck's power just flickered.
I'll bet you're glad you live in the big city, a Pat K?

Dang Pat, I didn't recognize the number and was thinking who the heck is calling us from some dang place in NY. Couldn't hear you, bad cell reception, glad you could hear me. :) Thanks for thinking of us. We were hoping you did OK.

We did fairly well, lots of rain and lost power twice early in the storm, but they got it going pretty quickly both times. Wind wasn't very bad here because it was coming from the other side of the mountain. We didn't even realize how bad things were until our family and friends started calling all worried.

We put up with the problems of living on the mountain, but we get the benefit of good drainage. Like Lloyd says, we sent our water down for others to deal with. I was out in the rain working on our "driveway" to prevent it from eroding and washing out. Crawl space tried to become a swimming pool, but the power came back on and I got the sump pump going.

Jim and Lauren were out of power for quite a while, I sent a search team out to check on them.  ;D

Although I planned on beating Irene back to NH, I agreed to stay at my Sister's house in CT thru the hurricane. Our sister lives in the same town, who lives one mile away came to stay with us thru Irene and any likely electric outage.
Saturday was gray, windy and noisy, all day. The visiting sister's power went out and stayed out until Tuesday morning. My niece's power a couple of towns south went out and for all I know is still out.
Our power went out for one minute!

Must be a lot of people still without power up in your neck of the woods.

plus us guys going through drought don't know what gray windy and rainy looks like anymore
The power always seemed better at the Hoyt Farm than Manchestah and such. :)
