Many moons ago I worked in a hospital laundry area, folding and separating sheets and clothes.  I didn't make much, but I did profit some from sorts.    So, yes, I believe it can happen... :P

;D   Eeeeww, I hope the sheets didn't crack in half.  ;D   Did you ever watch the movie Bridesmaids?  The lady with the 3 sons was so funny, she talked about how their blankets cracked in half.

When I was doing my LNA clinicals I used to talk to the people that did the laundry, they were so cool and down to earth compared to the "higher ups"; behind "the desk".   They liked me and would give me extra boxes of gloves, awesome!  :)

I've decided to let my LNA license expire for a lot of reasons, like the way the old people just exist in the nursing homes, they didn't even get water and I just saw too much sadness and medications being given to them. I have a lot of other reasons too.   There was this old lady that just got there when I was doing my clinicals and she was totally "with it", and talkative but within two weeks she was a zombie. :(

I can't really say it was the LNAs fault because they worked their asses off but there were just too many patients to care for per LNA and they couldn't give the older people the time they needed to do extra things with and for them.   It's the system, it sucks and most, I guess they are owners or corporations that run nursing homes, I don't know, care about money, money, money, not people. >:(

I should freaking go around and be a volunteer though, I just have to start doing the things I want to instead of procrastinating. :P
