Trooper Gacek had been sitting in a marked cruiser in a parking area to the immediate right of the Hampton toll plaza, which is fairly well lit. He testified that he was "bored" and "needed something to do" given the few cars on the road in the early morning hours.

McAuliffe is the USDC judge who was involved in the Browns' case, and Russell's too, IIRC.

As I recall, there were some nutty posts here a few years ago claiming that since no one here could find proof that McAuliffe had taken his oath of office, then he surely hadn't taken it and was therefore not a judge.  The motive ascribed to McAuliffe was that if he hadn't taken the oath of office, then no conduct committee could find him in violation of it.  Honest.

McAuliffe was also the judge that made some sheriff give court reformer Theo Kamasinski some personal property back that had been taken from him under dubious authority.  That was a decade ago, so I'm not sure I could find it even if I had to.

Unfortunately, Kamasinski did not fare so well when he tried to get McAuliffe and others to overturn Judge Fitzgerald's Order prohibiting him from practicing law in New Hampshire without a license.

I think that is who I had. He wasn't a full judge then.
Kat and Lauren had someone else, who was a judge.
Ridley had the same guy as me. The one who escaped while I was looking away. :)
