What the heck is in that New Hampshire air?

People seem to be marrying every time you turn around.

Kat Kanning

No, it seems obvious now, but I only figured it out when Denise spelled it out.

I kept worrying we were going to give it away too early.  Guess we kept the secret a little better than we thought!

Oh, and FYI, we've pretty much finished all the major planning.  Just details, now.  It's been suggested that we should write a book on planning weddings on short notice.  All the major stuff done in a month... and we both work full time, she goes to school full time, as well, and I'm on-call for my job two weeks out of every three, so I can't leave town during those two weeks to get any meetings done... and we still got it done in a month.  Imagine what we could do, if we actually had free time to work with!

Also FYI, while we would like to invite all our Porcupine friends, this is going to be a small wedding, so it's not really possible.  However, we will be having a big party this summer, and we will issue an open invitation to all the Porcupines for that.  Well, except Russel; he's just such an angry and violent person... ;D

We could sedate Russell for the party, and hide the matches.

I think there will be plenty of sedatives available.  In convenient, liquid form!

Matches should definitely be hidden.  Drunk people and matches are a bad combination.  Now, as far as acetylene torches go, well, those are just too much fun to put away, drunk people or no drunk people!

It took a month to plan?  ;D

Here was our wedding planning:
Guest list?
-Parents, siblings, our kids. Check.
Wedding party's clothing?
-One trip to Burlington Coat Factory. Check.
Rings?
The plain gold bands from Sears. Check.
Flowers?
-Bouquet for bride. Corsage for daugther, boutineers for sons. Check.
Church?
-Not busy at 2 p.m. on a Thursday, even if it is Valentine's Day. Check.
Reception?
-Dinner for everybody at Texas Roadhouse. Check, please.
Honeymoon?
-Scatter the kids amongst relatives. Go home, have fun. Check.

(Addendum: Honeymoon surprise? Nine months, one day later. Check!)

All told, we spent about a grand, a total of about four hours shopping and planning, didn't worry or stress, and enjoyed ourselves with our closest family members. I grew up toting equipment for my dad, who was a professional wedding photographer. I've seen lots of marriages never make it out of the gates, destroyed by the wedding. We focused on the marriage and let the wedding be a very simple declaration to God and to those we love.

I highly recommend that way of planning a wedding, but it sounds like Joe and Denise have it together with their plans, too. Congratulations!

Welcome to the forum, Denise.

Thanks Scott... I just haven't been on here, (too busy with commuting to work and school), and posting on the old FSP forums, though I was one of the first folks to move up ;-)
