Man, now I'm depressed....somebody, remind me of what hope we have. What hope do we have? <--- This is an honest question....someone who knows more than I do, please tell me that something can be done, that we haven't reached the point of no return.

Here's some hope for you. :)

Do everything you can to get Ron Paul elected. But know that if he isn't, then we will certainly be past the point of no return, and at that point life is going to get a lot worse for everyone, and you should prepare for that.

One thing is to simply do what you can. Try not to worry too much about the global problems and act locally.

That's why I like the Liberty Dollar so much: it is a SOLUTION that allows you to do well while doing good.

We cannot fix the problems until we fix the monetary system. And even if we cannot fix the system globally, we can fix it locally so that we will have a better chance to survive any calamities.

Thank you SO much for posting this....I'm printing it out, making copies and will distribute it to my family and friends. I am sick to my stomach....sick to my stomach to have some of the "dots connected" for me. I've known for a long time now that things are very bad and I've known that it is worse than it looks on the surface, but to see how calculating, how cold these rich men and politicians have been, to see how deep and thick the lies run, is...chilling. I'm chilled by this. I can tell now that the reason I've been so puzzled about everything...is because I couldn't see the forrest for the trees! This prblem is freaking huge, no wonder it's hard to make sense of it.

The question I have asked myself for a long time is: Who is in charge of this, who is pulling the strings here? It really bugged me forever to not quite know where the "brain" was.....now I see there is no brain, really, but many many greedy and powerful people all together, doing what they have to do to get by and stay rich and powerful. Wow....so, essentially, America is living paycheck to paycheck. Feeding to feeding. Where to next? Iran? Good grief. What after that? Will we stay in the Middle East, would any of you guess that the plan is basically to stay in the Middle East and just slowly creep over the entire region?

Is this problem too big for us to create real change? Is there, really, anything we can do to stop this? I am in this fight for the rest of my life...I just couldn't ever go back to living without trying to resist this.......but for clarity and honesty's sake...is there anything that can really be done? Like the article said, this problem, this madness, is not the US Government....it's global. Huge. Evil. How do you fight something that is gigantic, soulless, faceless and powerful in every meaning of the word as it pertains to your existence? I've been so focused on local change that I really didn't stop to look at the globe. It's not a very friendly place to the likes of us....I mean, how are we going to do this? Everywhere else, pretty much, has already fallen to "The Evil"...The UK, France, all of Europe, really....Canada is no good anymore, South America, Central America...Africa is nothing, Australia...Eastern Europe is no good....Asia....where is there?? There is nowhere. Even our own country...falling and falling into the comfort zone of nanny states and stupid socialism. What is left? There is The Shire, I guess. We've got the Shire.

Man, now I'm depressed....somebody, remind me of what hope we have. What hope do we have? <--- This is an honest question....someone who knows more than I do, please tell me that something can be done, that we haven't reached the point of no return.

:hug45: Awakening to see the world for what it really is, is necessarily a traumatic and sickening experience, if it is seen honestly. How can it not be crushing to discover that virtually our entire existence and reality is based on fraud and lies? I think this is why most people avoid really going deep down the rabbit hole, or taking the red pill(to borrow two modern references). It's much simpler to believe in the world which is seen; going to work, paying taxes, raising a family, voting, going shopping, owning a home. The reality is much darker and far more sinister than that, and it takes tremendous courage to be willing to see the whole truth for what it is.

Your world-view will now forever be altered, because what you've seen can't be unseen.  What you do with this knowledge is up to you  :)

Interesting.  The writter refers to the sovietization of the economy.  I have long thought the US collapse would be more like the soviet collapse, maybe without all the coup drama, except bush's.  This country will not be destroyed from the outside, but rather from the inside.  A cave-in so to speak.
I increasingly do not believe the 'tapeworm' can be fought.  I am almost convinced that we are beyond that period of time.  However, it can be resisted, by 'cutting off' the diseased parts, in this case most of the 'body'.  For example, it is not possible for the most part to improve the schools.  Homeschooling parents have cut off that body, and are doing their own thing.  And the results are showing, by almost any measure, test scores, admittance in colleges, intellectual competitions ect.  The fsp is an example of cutting off the diseased body.

I'm glad that you brought this up; there is a phenomenal presentation by Dimitri Orlov here http://energybulletin.net/23259.html which discusses the collapse of the Soviet Union-vs-the collapse of the US Empire. Dimitri witnessed first-hand the collapse of the former and in this presentation he compares and contrasts how both countries fare.

Thank you, Error. I know....I know Ron Paul is good and that we must do our best to get him elected....but the current President Monster wasn't elected...you know? I just don't have a lot of faith in our election process. I sometimes feel like Ron Paul is too good to be true, like he would be a great President, one we could be proud of, that he would do whatever he could to make change....and that because of all that he can't be elected. :(

I'm doing what I need to do to be ready. I'm just so sad....so many bright and caring people are working on this.

 You are awake! (I'm not going to win many friends on this forum by pointing this out though!)  :-\

I think Catherine Austin Fitts has figured out the best way to fight this monster: It's all about MONEY. Our wallets are incredibly powerful tools which we need to learn to use effectively in support of tapeworm alternatives!

Precisely--our votes at the ballot box are not being counted accurately, but you can be sure that every dollar is counted. We vote every time we open our wallets, and where we choose to bank.

The monetary system will not be fixed by hard money. This separates left from right libertarians.

Yeah, could you expand on that?

EthanAllen

as a left libertarian I believe that currency is part of the social commons not to be enclosed for private gain.

most right libertarians seem to believe that the value most be inherent within the medium of exchange.

money is just a social construct based on trust to facilitate trade.

Forgive me, truly, if I'm reading this wrong, but I'm having a hard time understanding where you're coming from with this......or going, for that matter.

do you know, or care for that matter, what the social commons is?

for instance wikipedia is part of the social commons.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Creative_Commons

excerpt:

All these efforts, and more, are done to counter the effects of what Creative Commons considers to be a dominant and increasingly restrictive permission culture. In the words of Lawrence Lessig, founder of Creative Commons and former Chairman of the Board, it is "a culture in which creators get to create only with the permission of the powerful, or of creators from the past". Lessig maintains that modern culture is dominated by traditional content distributors in order to maintain and strengthen their monopolies on cultural products such as popular music and popular cinema, and that Creative Commons can provide alternatives to these restrictions.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Culture_movement

excerpt:

Wikimedia

Wikimedia's projects, which are licensed under the GNU Free Documentation License and different Creative Commons licences arguably constitute the largest single free culture project. Wikimedia was founded by Jimmy Wales. Based on ideas of the free culture movement, Jimmy Wales also has announced ten challenges for the movement in general with A Free Culture Manifesto at the Wikimania 2005.

According to Jimmy Wales, those 10 things that should be free within the next decade are:

   1. Encyclopedia – in all languages; Wikipedia
   2. Dictionary – in and for all languages; Wiktionary
   3. Curriculum – in every language and for every grade; Wikibooks, Wikiversity
   4. Music - Wikimedia Commons
   5. Art - Wikimedia Commons
   6. Free file formats
   7. Maps - Wikimedia Commons
   8. Product identifiers
   9. TV listings
  10. Communities
