So it seems that there are lots of things that we want to record.
The Senate, protests, court dates.

I think that a good mike would be good to have.

1.  What is a good brand?
2.  How much do they cost?
3.  We could donate/raise money to pay for it.

Mike Fisher isn't good enough?

or did you mean mic, as in microphone?

Why does it need to be wireless?

What are you going to record onto?

Seems like you need a few different mics.
One for interviews that you stick in peoples faces....
and one directional shotgun mike to record stuff farther away....

We have two very good Sennheiser (one of the best names) wireless mics. We are more than willing and eager to film (and obviously get an audio recording) of any important event.

The issue is getting to NH from NY, which can be quite expensive. We're pushing fundraising as hard as we can, but since we both work pretty much fulltime, it can be a slow process. We really only have time to actively fundraise when we are between projects (we work freelance). Some people have already donated to us and its enabled us to travel to NH a few times, which is a great help.

Any efforts to get the word out about the project or donations toward it will always result in high quality documentations of FSP related issues and events. This gets you the whole package, but to answer the actual question, Senneheiser mics are a good investment, we like ours a lot.
