KBC posted this in another thread:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roscoe_Filburn

I read it and was disgusted but this part irks me:

Quote
under the Agricultural Adjustment Act of 1938, the government imposed quotas on the production of a number of crops, including wheat.

A quota on how much you could produce.... and people (excepting Filburn) said ok.  AYE CARUMBA.

Yet another socialista legacy of FDR.

Pat McCotter

I cannot find the article but there was one western farmer looking to add soybeans to his crop mixture so he could make his own fuel. He was prohibited from doing so because of the government requirements for crops grown on his acreage.

I thank the lord of this Manor each day that I, the pitiful serf, do not have to make difficult decisions about what to cultivate, or how to live. Thank God that the laws act as a steady guardrail to my actions.
